Justin Fields is reacting to the backlash he received from Bears fans earlier this week.
While speaking to the media after team’s loss to the Packers the second-year quarterback wanted to express how terrible the mood was in the locker room but ended up sounding like he was taking a shot at Bears fans watching the game at home.
After the game, Fields said the loss hit harder for the players in the locker room than it does for the fans.
“I mean it hurts more in the locker room than for Bears fans. At the end of the day, they aren’t putting in any work. I see the guys in the locker room every day, I see how much work they put in.”

Fields’ comments didn’t sit well with fans, who ripped him to shreds on social media.
On Wednesday, Fields took a moment to clear up his “fans not putting work in” comments by saying that he didn’t mean to offend any fans, he was just upset after the team’s loss.
“What I meant by that, is, I’m talking about work regarding the game on Sunday, winning the game,” he said. “I don’t know any fans. I don’t know what they’re doing in their personal lives.
” I respect every fan that we have. I’m glad that we have fans. I would never disrespect anybody on what they do or what they love to do. It came off like that.”
