Ben Roethlisberger apparently had some thoughts about coming out of retirement this season.
The retired former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback recently said on his podcast that he’s “thought about” coming out of retirement to join the Niners following the season-ending injury to Jimmy Garoppolo.
“I thought about it,” Roethlisberger said on his “Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger” podcast. “That team is one of the better teams in football and that defense is really stinking good and they did it with Purdy.”

Fans mocked Big Ben because it doesn’t appear the Niners expressed any interest in signing him.
