The 49ers are apparently open to trading to Jimmy Garoppolo if the Cowboys give them a phone call.
On Sunday, Cowboys QB Dak Prescott went down with a thumb injury that will reportedly force him to sit out 6-8 weeks.
During a recent press conference, Shanahan was asked if the team was willing to trade Jimmy G to the Cowboys.
“Just like all players, we’ll listen to anybody on anything,” Shanahan responded. “That never changes for any player or coach. We’ll always listen to anybody.”,
As of now it appears that the Cowboys are more than happy to roll the dice with backup QB Cooper Rush and hope Prescott can return earlier than expected.
While speaking on his weekly radio show, Jones said he hoped Prescott could come back to play in 4-6 weeks.
Cowboys aren't placing QB Dak Prescott on injured reserve, team owner Jerry Jones said on @1053thefan. "We want him to be in consideration for playing within the next four games." Sounds like 4-6 weeks is team's timetable. "We feel better about it than we did Sunday night."

Pro Football Doc David Chao doesn’t believe Prescott will be back as quickly as Jones hopes.
I hear the Jerry Jones optimism on 4-6 weeks and no IR.
Listen to why playing at or before 4 weeks does not seem likely and @RichGannon12 agrees. (skip to 1:30 mark for the impatient). https://t.co/QtRyj1t5VG— David J. Chao – ProFootballDoc (@ProFootballDoc) September 13, 2022
It doesn’t appear the Cowboys are interested in trading for a QB like Jimmy G just yet.
