A special moment that was meant to honor the legacy of NBA great Bill Russell has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.
Russell, who many considered one of the greatest players in NBA history, passed away this past summer at the age of 88.
On Tuesday night, the Celtics paid tribute to both him and his wife Jeanine by having her in attendance for the team’s home opener vs the Sixers.
