It appears the 49ers have already made a decision about who’s going to be the starting QB in 2023.
Despite the fact that Trey Lance will be healthy by the time camp comes around next season, Purdy will be named the starter for the start of the 2023 season, according to NFL insider Michael Silver.

“You may hear protestations in the coming months that such a proclamation is premature, perhaps in an effort to drive up Trey Lance’s trade value,” Silver wrote. “If so, don’t believe the noise. Purdy, even if he throws 12 interceptions Sunday, is the 49ers’ quarterback of the present and future.”
