There’s some controversy early in the Chiefs-Chargers Thursday Night Football game.
On 3rd and 4, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw up a deep ball to wideout Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the second quarter that was intercepted by Chargers safety Nasir Adderley. The interception was called back due to an illegal contact penalty on Chargers cornerback Bryce Callahan.
Fans noted how ridiculous the call was considering Callahan was pushed to the ground on the play by the Chiefs wide receiver.
Bryce Callahan gets tossed to the ground and he gets the illegal contact ball to bail out a horrible throw by Mahomes. Got it.

The Chiefs were able to score on the drive due to the penalty and Chargers fans weren’t happy.
