Chiefs’ Chris Jones Blasts NFL Over Roughing The Passer Rule: “It’s Costing Teams Games”

It’s been a bad week for the NFL when it comes to the roughing the passer penalty rule.

On Sunday, fans ripped into the league when the Falcons were called for a terrible roughing the passer penalty late in the game.

On Monday night, Chiefs’ Chris Jones was called for an absolute terrible roughing the passer penalty.

After the Chiefs’ Monday Night game, Jones ripped into the NFL over roughing the passer penalties.

“I think they’ve put such an emphasis on it that we need to be able to view it in the booth now,” Jones told reporters. “That’s the next step for the NFL as a whole. Looks can be deceiving. When you look at a replay, it’s a whole different thing. It’s getting absurd.”

Jones added: “Now it’s getting absurd. Now it’s costing teams games.”

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes says he’s never seen head coach Andy Reid so mad after a call and admitted that the team was fired up due to the bad reffing in the game.
