Deion Sanders, who famously played for the Florida State Seminoles during his college career raised eyebrows during a recent press conference.
While speaking to the media ahead of his first game as the head coach of the Colorado Buffs’, Sanders got into a back and forth with a media member when he denied that he was a “Nole” because he was an HBCU grad.
The reporter, who is a Miami Hurricanes Alum, fired back.
“I’ve got to check you, though, because those Hall of Famers (Irvin and Sapp) were all Hurricanes like myself – and you’re a ‘Nole, my friend.”
Sanders doubled down and asked the reported “Why do you keep calling me a Nole?”
“No, no, no, no. Actually, do you know where I graduated from?… I graduated from an HBCU. So, I’m a who? I thought it’s where you graduated from, isn’t it? Why do you keep calling me [a ‘Nole] if it’s not where I graduated from?”
