Deion Sanders Rips Media, Demands Son Shedeur Sanders Be Included In Heisman Conversation

Deion Sanders thinks his son Shedeur has done enough to get Heisman consideration.

Following JSU’s 49–7 blowout win against in-state rival Mississippi Valley, Sanders told reporters on Monday during the SWAC’s coaches’ press conference that he was upset that Shedeur wasn’t “mentioned” in the race for college football’s Heisman Trophy award.

Deion, who said he was going through a “dad moment”, wanted the media members to start talking about his son when it comes to the Heisman race.

“And our quarterback [Shedeur Sanders] should be mentioned upon the Heisman race. That’s up for you guys. And I want you guys to push those pens, push those computers, and do what you can because you put his numbers up next to the guys in power fives. He’s doing as much more than they’re doing right now.

“So when they start talking about Heisman, which I saw before the previous game, I got a little upset that they mentioned us, period. They didn’t mention what Shedeur is doing.

“Forget that he’s my son, and his last name is Sanders. Any other man doing what he’s doing and accomplishing what he’s accomplishing this far is early on deserves the recognition. That’s all. Thank you for allowing me to have a ‘Dad Moment.’

Here’s video of Deion’s comments.

Shedeur has thrown for 1,351 yards and 14 touchdowns through JSU’s first four games of the year.
