ESPN Radio Station Has ‘Paused’ Weekly Brett Favre Appearances Amid Welfare Scandal

Brett Favre is not going to be appearing on ESPN Milwaukee anytime soon.

Two weeks ago, incriminating text messages were leaked that showed Favre’s involvement in a scheme featuring former Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant in which $5 million in welfare money was used to fund a new volleyball arena for the University of Southern Mississippi, where Fave’s daughter attends.

Due to the scandal, Favre’s weekly radio appearances on ESPN Milwaukee have currently been “paused” according to Front Office Sports.

“ESPN Milwaukee has “paused” Brett Favre’s weekly radio appearances amid the swirling Mississippi welfare funds scandal, a spokesperson for the station’s ownership group told Front Office Sports on Friday.

Good Karma Brands — which owns ESPN Milwaukee’s WKTI-FM and ESPN Radio stations in Denver, Los Angeles, Chicago, and other markets — becomes the first media outlet to sideline the former Green Bay Packers great since scrutiny intensified in recent weeks over Favre‘s ties to receiving funds earmarked for needy families in Mississippi.”

While ESPN Milwaukee has paused Favre’s appearances, other brands that work with the former NFL QB have yet to respond to the scandal.

Things aren’t looking good for Favre.
