ESPN’s Bart Scott Accuses Bengals’ Tee Higgins Of ‘Lowering His Helmet’ Into Damar Hamlin During Incident

ESPN’s Bart Scott has given his thoughts on the Damar Hamlin situation and fans aren’t happy about what he had to say.

On First Take Scott appeared to call out Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins for “lowering his helmet” into Hamlin’s chest. Hamlin would later go into cardiac arrest due to the hit.

“Offensive players can’t use the crown of their head – helmet – as a weapon, which is kind of what Tee Higgins did and I’m not trying to put the blame on Tee Higgins, but that’s something that they tried to take out.”

“Right before the tackle he lowers his helmet and he kind of throws his body into his chest. He’s standing up because he thinks he has to chase Tee Higgens at an angle to make a tackle so he didn’t expect Tee Higgins to launch his body back into him.”

Scott’s take didn’t sit well with NFL fans.
