One Blue Jays fan was close to making a ton of money tonight.
During Wednesday night’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays, Judge hit his 61st home run of the season, which tied him with Yankees legend Roger Maris for the most home runs in a single season by an American League player.
A Blue Jays fan in the outfield was inches from catching the ball and saw it fall into the bullpen.
I mean, if the 61 ball is worth a million dollars, you kinda have to jump down and risk breaking your legs, right? That’s a decision you have to make the second you sit down in those seats. pic.twitter.com/MB3ekkm4g1

After dropping the ball, the Blue Jays fan looked sick after realizing that he could have made hundreds of thousands of dollars by selling the ball if he had only caught it.

Baseball fans mocked the poor Blue Jays fan on social media.
If I’m friends with the guy who dropped Aaron Judge’s 61st homer, I’m making sure he never ever forgets pic.twitter.com/KGf5GbOpuw

Those Blue Jays fans essentially walked to the lottery store with a winning ticket and dropped it down the drain along the way. They're gonna need therapy to recover from that. https://t.co/1IaTDMNuBb

This fan came to the game hoping to come away with Aaron Judge’s HR 61st HR ball, and instead, walked away with depression for life.
How could you not be romantic about baseball? pic.twitter.com/OBBqDtqgrc
