Jimmy Garoppolo could find himself playing against his former team sooner than expected.
Last month, Jimmy G left the 49ers and signed with the Las Vegas Raiders.
According to Vic Tafur of The Athletic, the two Niners and the Raiders are planning to have joint practices before they play against each in a preseason game in Vegas. This will be their second preseason game against each other since 2021 but, before that, they hadn’t played a non-competitive in 10 years.

Last year, the 49ers held joint practices with the Minnesota Vikings, before the second game on their preseason schedule. In 2021, the Niners held a pair of joint practices with the Los Angeles Chargers, who was their final preseason opponent.
It’ll be interesting to see if there’s any bad blood between Jimmy G and his old teammates at the joint practice.
