Jets’ Joe Flacco may start against his former team, the Baltimore Ravens, in week one, but he will try his best to keep the drama to the minimum.
As of now, it’s currently unclear if starting QB Zach Wilson will start in the team’s opening game on September 11th after suffering a knee injury in the preseason.
Jets’ QB Zach Wilson has a bone bruise and a meniscus tear and is expected to miss 2-4 weeks, as @BrianCoz also reported. Wilson will undergo arthroscopic surgery to address and correct the injury. Jets consider it fortunate news.

Jets’ QB Zach Wilson flying to Los Angeles to undergo his knee procedure. “We’re optimistic, but he’s not out of the woods until they get in there and make the decision,” said Jets’ HC Robert Saleh.

Flacco spoke with Sports Illustrated about potentially facing his former team in week one and the emotions that come with that.
“Obviously, people are going to bring it up to me,” “I’ve been in a bunch of games where guys played their past teams, coaches have played their past teams, and usually the emotions are crazy. Guys are acting like they’re so cool during the week, ‘It doesn’t mean anything.’ I probably thought about it a tiny bit. It’s so far away and who knows what’s going to happen at this point? But I definitely thought about it, and I’m like, ‘Oh, yeah, it’s not going to be a big deal,’ but deep down I’m going to try and make sure it’s not the biggest deal in the world, but I’ve been through it enough and seen guys go through it . . . it’s a different thing.”
