Jon Jones Teases Retirement Fight Against Stipe Miocic At UFC NY

Jon Jones appears to be eyeing a retirement fight against Stipe Miocic in New York.

After quickly dispatching Ciryl Gane at UFC 285, Jones called out Miocic.

“I say it respectfully to Stipe: I would take time off from being a firefighter right now. I mean that with all due respect. My whole world is going to be focused on him. This is the biggest opportunity in my life, to be the heavyweight GOAT, and I’m going to give it everything I’ve got – absolutely everything I’ve got. Stipe is talking about how he’s heavier than me right now.

” His head is already in the wrong spot if he thinks weightlifting is going to beat me. He’ll never be younger than he is right now. He’ll never be faster. I’m going to not only beat Stipe Miocic, I’m going to finish Stipe Miocic before the championship rounds.”

Last week after UFC 287, UFC President Dana White said he had not heard from Jones since his fight in March.

“Poof he’s gone again, Jon Jones goes back underground..I haven’t heard a word out of him.”

Stipe Miocic went on to call out Jones for ducking him.

Jones responded by saying the UFC had other plans for his potential fight against Miocic.

Jones went on to tease a retirement fight against Stipe at UFC NY in November.

“How cool would it be to spend my retirement fight dominating the greatest heavyweight of all time, in my home state at Madison Square Garden?
