Justin Fields delivered a statement following Chicago’s loss to Green Bay that angered Bears fans.
While speaking to the media the second-year quarterback wanted to express how terrible the mood was in the locker room but ended up sounding like he was taking a shot at Bears fans watching the game at home.
After the game, Fields said the loss hits harder for the players in the locker room than it does for the fans.
“I mean it hurts more in the locker room than for Bears fans. At the end of the day, they aren’t putting in any work. I see the guys in the locker room every day, I see how much work they put in.”
“It hurts more in the locker room than for Bears fans… They aren’t putting in any work.”
Bears fans may not like this one from Justin Fields….

Bears fans did not appreciate Fields’ comment and blasted him on Twitter.
this is not how you wanna say…
"we work really hard at what we do so we can win"
hey @justnfields you put your time & effort into your passion of the sport & fans put in their time & effort too…as well as…& importantly…their hard earned money. pic.twitter.com/FsPuNTc9a8

justin is technically right here but hes going to want this one back. a lot of bears fans work their absolute tails off to afford to go to games & cheer them on. we all get what hes saying but somethings are better left unsaid pic.twitter.com/6kfnxXWgiZ

As a high school teacher and former coach, imagine yelling at an athlete for “forgetting about the fans” after a disappointing loss. You’d look stupid and a fool. That’s also how you look now if you feel this way towards JF1. pic.twitter.com/hQeBO60fl6

I despise this mentality , you don’t think it hurts the hard working Chicago fans that spend their hard earn money to travel to games and pay for overpriced hotdogs more then the multi millionaire crybabies ? https://t.co/9GJefgyzTV

Chicago Sports Deserve Better. This is an absurd statement to make. Sports fans are sickos that have their week made or broken by a football teams performance on Sunday. To say a great fan base like Chicago doesn’t put in work is ludicrous. #CSDB pic.twitter.com/lCXKJxNMXI
