NFL Teams Looking To Spend ‘Bare Minimum On Ezekiel Elliott According To Report

The preseason has begun, and Ezekiel Elliott is still a free agent, but it appears that teams are interested in picking him up but on the cheap.

According to a recent report from Mike Giardi, teams interested in signing Zeke are only willing to pay him the bare minimum. Some teams are talking about signing Elliott after week one so his contract isn’t guaranteed.

Despite getting interest from the Patriots, Elliott will probably have to wait to see what happens between the Colts and Jonathan Taylor or Raiders and Josh Jacobs that could open up some money for him those two players continue to hold out.

Former NFL GM Michael Lombardi is more optimistic about Zeke’s chances of getting signed before the season starts.

During a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee show, Lombardi said that he believes Dalvin Cook and Ezekiel Elliott will both be seemed in the coming weeks before the start of the season.

“I think Dalvin and Zeke are gonna sign with two weeks to go [before the season starts],” Lombardi said. “I think both know where they’re gonna go. I think both don’t want to play yet until [training] camp gets over.”

There’s still about 3 weeks until the season starts, so a lot can happen between now and then.
