Sterling Shepard went down with a non-contact injury on Monday during the Cowboys-Giants game and Odell Beckham Jr. is blaming the turf at MetLife Stadium.
At the end of the Monday Night’s game, Shepard bizarrely went down with a leg injury while jogging up the field.

Shepard would later get carted off the field and early reports were that he tore his ACL.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll confirmed Shepard suffered a season-ending ACL injury on the play.

Odell Beckham Jr., who suffered a torn ACL at the Super Bowl while playing on turf at SoFi Stadium, took to Twitter to call on MetLife Stadium to remove the turf.
Just get rid of it all the fkngether bro. Billions made off this game I can’t understand why we can’t play on grass. That shxt is rough. Prayers up for my brother. Shxt just hurt my heart

The reaction from players and media is that turf needs to go.
Gutted over the Sterling Shepard news. Many players have since relayed an important message to me over the past 12 hours: Every NFL stadium NEEDS natural grass. We KNOW it’s much safer. Specifically, players have a 28% higher rate of non-contact lower extremity injuries on turf.

.@JCTretter wrote a great article on this, citing the 28 percent as well as many other notable numbers that clearly tell us grass is much safer than turf. https://t.co/LYKLays2uo

#Giants WR Sterling Shepard suffered a torn ACL in last nights game. Think it’s time to evaluate turf fields. Many non-contact injuries have occurred and seems that the players all prefer grass fields.
