One NBA Team Named Frontrunner To Land Kevin Durant In Trade

One team is the favorite to land NBA superstar Kevin Durant this offseason.

Earlier this month it was reported that Durant told owner Joe Tsai that he needed to fire head coach Steve Nash and GM Sean Marks if they wanted to keep him.

Tsai fired back by showing support for Nash and Marks.

Sam Amico is now reporting that the Boston Celtics, who have offered Jaylen Brown in a trade package for Durant, are the frontrunners to land the Nets superstar.

Among the executives with whom I spoke, a Boston deal with Jaylen Brown as the centerpiece appears to be the unofficial front-runner here,” wrote Amick. “In general terms, sources say the Nets are using the fact that the Celtics (and perhaps other teams) have made their second-best player available as a baseline of sorts in negotiations. Translation: If you’re still trying to discuss a Durant deal without putting your second-best talent on the table, then just stop wasting everyone’s time and bow out of this race.”

Durant is still under contract with the Nets for the next 4 years, so they’re not in a hurry to trade away their star just yet.
