Patrick Mahomes talked about his viral moment with Chiefs’ offensive coordinator Eric Beiniemy on Sunday.
At halftime of the Chiefs-Colts game, Mahomes and Bieniemy was seen arguing with each other while walking toward the locker room. Chiefs’ head coach Andy Reid ended up separating the two.

After the game, Mahomes explained that he wanted to try to score before the half and Bieniemy disagreed.
“I mean, at the end of the day, I wanted to go try to score,” Mahomes said.
“That’s just who I am. We were in a tough situation, I believe it was second or third-and-20 or something like that, and probably the smart decision was to just take it [and know] we got the ball out of the half, let’s just go into halftime.
But I’m always going to be wanting to score and I pretty much just said, ‘Let me have a chance at it.’ He was just like, ‘Let’s just get back in our locker room and we’ll get something going for the next half.’ I don’t know if that’s an altercation, but that was the end of the conversation.”
Reid didn’t think the Mahomes-Bieniemy sideline argument was a big deal.
Reid said "it wasn't a confrontation at all" despite what it looked like when Mahomes and Bieniemy chatted at the end of the first half. He said Mahomes wanted to run something other than a Hail Mary. #ChiefsKingdom #Chiefs41
