Raiders Create $17 Million In Cap Room After Restructuring Jimmy Garoppolo’s Contract

The Las Vegas Raiders are making moves before the start of the season.

Before the team’s season opening game, the Raiders were able to clear up a significant amount of cap space. According to a report from ESPN, the team restructured Jimmy Garoppolo’s contract and were able to clear up about $17 million in cap space.

It’s currently unclear exactly how the team restructured the three-year, $72.75 million deal Garoppolo signed this offseason.

Garroppolo was initially scheduled to make $22.5 million base salary which means $23.8 million was going to against the salary cap this season.
