Robert Griffin III is offering to become the new QB of the Niners after the team’s ugly game against the Broncos.
During ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” show Adam Schefter mentioned that the Niners could use a mobile quarterback since Trey Lance is out for the season.
That’s when Griffin, who played for the Shanahans in Washington told Kyle to call him about playing QB for the Niners.
Jimmy G's struggles last night had @RGIII ready to come out of retirement 😭

Griffin was coached by Shanahan in 2012 and 2013. when Kyle was an offensive coordinator for Washington, which also happened to be Griffin’s best seasons in the NFL before he succumbed to a knee injury that shortened his career.
Niners fans reacted to RG3’s offer.
Honestly, I think most @49ers fans would rather RG3 come out of retirement and give it a go against the Rams on only 1/2 a week of practice than seeing more of Jimmy G.

He should come out of retirement and help us out. I wanted him as Treys backup. https://t.co/lDoSVAwfmr

RGIII ran a 4.48 at 32 years old and in the booth calling Monday Night Football 😂 he’d be a backup QB on my squad in a heartbeat https://t.co/BxVwwovYlb
