After the game, Tannehill felt it was the right move for coach Mike Vrabel to bench the starters to prevent injuries and called on the team to “turn the page” from their brutal loss.
“It was brutal, I haven’t been a part of whole lotta games like that, so, brutal night., We have a lot of football in front of us, we have to turn the page quickly on this one and get ready to go next week”
“It’s a long season, obviously, we were out of it at that point and didn’t want to suscept myself and a few other guys to injury, we have to be able to get past this one quickly and be ready to go next week.”
The image of Tannehill getting benched by Vrabel on the sideline sparked memes from the NFL community.
