Tom Brady has reacted to former Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick claiming he’s the motherf’er he was talking about during a viral interview.
Back in 2021, while on LeBron James’ The Shop TV show, Brady revealed that a team had pulled out on a deal to sign him at the last minute to stick with their QB.
“One of the teams, they weren’t interested at the very end. I was thinking, ‘You’re sticking with that motherf’er?’”
During a recent appearance on the Dan Le Batard show, Fitzpatrick said that he was sure that he was the motherf’er Brady was talking about.
“I think I still am. I think I still am that guy,” Fitzpatrick said. “If you go back to that …before the 2019 season when the Dolphins are trying to assemble a roster that is going to help them get a better draft pick the next year so it’s not like that was going to be an attractive situation for Tom anyway. So I’m not sure why he was so upset about it, but I still to this day believe that I am that motherf’er.”
On Monday during his weekly podcast appearance, Brady denied that Fitzpatrick is the motherf’er he referring to in the 2021 interview.
“It wasn’t him…I like to keep them guessing, and unfortunately with this coming out, I’d have to tell him,” Brady said while addressing Fitzpatrick’s comments.
Brady says he’s not sure why Fitzpatrick has been talking about him lately.
“Ryan is a hell of a guy, too, and I’ve competed against him. He’s a Harvard guy, now he looks like he’s part homeless, and now he’s on TV doing what my future job’s going to be, so I think Ryan’s got a good thing going, I’m not sure why he needs to think that I’m after him or something like that.”
