Tommy DeVito’s dad is speaking out.
On Christmas day, DeVito was benched in the second half in favor of backup QB Tyrod Taylor. It appears that the move is permanent as NY Giants head coach Brian Daboll has already told the media that he plans to start Taylor this week and keep DeVito on the bench.
“Just try to spark the team. I don’t really have anything else to add than did it to try to spark the team,” Daboll said while explaining his decision to go with Taylor.

“I thought he was hurt, maybe,” “Maybe something happened. He usually in the past would text me from halftime if he’s hurt or something, so I didn’t get any of that. Then I just heard it like you guys did from the sideline reporter, ‘Coach’s decision.’ ”
“Yeah, I’m his dad, of course I wanted him to play, but I guess the offense wasn’t doing much so they tried something else. Then you just root for the team and see what happens.”
“I was a little perplexed by it. I didn’t see him do anything wrong,”
