The Washington Nationals hosted the Oakland A’s on Thursday, and it appears that one fan ruined the night for a group of little girls in the stands.
A video that has now gone viral shows a grown man stealing a ball thrown at a group of young girls, then walking away as the girls looked stunned at what had just happened.
The video appears to show Nationals right fielder Joey Meneses tossing the ball into the stands between inning towards a group of five little girls who were calling for the ball before the man swooped in and caught it.
The woman who posted the video asked the Nationals if they could send her daughter a signed ball after the man stole the ball meant for her.
“Grown man steals baseball from a little girl. @Nationals can you get Joey Meneses to sign a baseball and send it to my daughter? ⚾️

Update: The mother says the Nationals apologized to the girls in the video and are going to send them a care package.
Thank you @Nationals for reaching out and apologizing to hear that our experience that night was negatively impacted. They are sending something our way and hope that this can serve as a symbol of a good experience at the park rather than a bad one! ❤️⚾️
